{"id":2529,"date":"2021-10-01T14:13:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-01T21:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usezloan.com\/?p=2529"},"modified":"2021-10-04T14:56:13","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T21:56:13","slug":"license-qualifications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usezloan.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/01\/license-qualifications\/","title":{"rendered":"\uc735\uc790\uc9c0\uc2dd230-License Qualifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>License Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Applicants for a state mortgage loan originator license, working for a mortgage broker or mortgage banker, must:<br \/>\n\u2022 Must complete at least twenty (20) hours of NMLS-approved prelicensing education, which includes these national topics: Federal law and regulation (3 hours), Ethics, including fraud and consumer protections, and fair lending (3 hours), Lending standards for non-traditional mortgage products (2 hours), and Elective (12 hours).<br \/>\n\u2022 Submit to a background check (including fingerprints, state and national criminal check).<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide personal history and experience. The NMLS uses a generic application, known as the MU4. The NMLS does not give a person their license, only a state can give a license to someone. The MU4 is the application for any state, it includes information all states require<br \/>\non their license.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide authorization to obtain an independent credit report and information relative to any administrative, civil or criminal findings. This would be considered a soft pull and can be used for multiple applications as long as those applications happen within the same 30-day period.<\/p>\n<p>Once that 30-day period is up, if the licensee wishes to obtain a license in another state a new credit report will be pulled.<br \/>\n\u2022 Never have had a mortgage loan originator license revoked in any government jurisdiction.<br \/>\n\u2022 Not have been convicted of, or pled guilty or nolo contendere to, a felony in a domestic, foreign or military court during the seven-year period preceding the date of the application for licensing and registration or at any time preceding such date of application, if such felony involved an act of fraud, dishonesty, or a breach of trust or money laundering (any pardon of a conviction is not considered a conviction).<br \/>\n\u2022 The applicant has demonstrated fiscal responsibility, character and general fitness such as to command the confidence of the community and to warrant a determination that the<br \/>\nmortgage loan originator will operate honestly, fairly and efficiently within the purposes of this Act.<br \/>\n\u2022 The applicant has completed the pre-licensing education requirement.<br \/>\n\u2022 The applicant has passed a written test that meets the test requirement.<br \/>\n\u2022 The applicant has met the protection options required by the State Regulatory Authority;<br \/>\neither a net worth or surety bond requirement, or paid into a state recovery fund.<br \/>\nAnnual Reports \u2013 Mortgage Broker: Mortgage brokers must typically submit annual reports of condition to the state thru the NMLS by March 31 each year. Mortgage Loan Originators usually file<br \/>\nannual call reports with the NMLS.<br \/>\nCharacter and Fitness &#8211; The model state language of the SAFE Act indicates that an applicant must demonstrate financial responsibility, character and general fitness such as to command the<br \/>\nconfidence of the community and to warrant a determination that the mortgage loan originator will operate honestly, fairly, and efficiently within the purposes of the Act.<br \/>\nA person has shown that he or she is not financially responsible when he or she has shown a disregard in the management of his or her own financial condition. A determination that an individual has not shown financial responsibility may include, but not be limited to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Current outstanding judgments, except judgments solely as a result of medical expenses.<br \/>\n\u2022 Current outstanding tax liens or other government liens and filings.<br \/>\n\u2022 Foreclosures within the past three years.<br \/>\n\u2022 A pattern of seriously delinquent accounts within the past three years.<br \/>\nSponsorship Requirement &#8211; In order to receive a Loan Originator\u2019s license, an applicant must have a sponsoring employer.
